Nokia X review

The Nokia X is the Nokia's big effort to control the low end segment of smartphone market. Nokia made its first Android debut. This handset is powered by dual core 1GHz processor from Qualcomm and 512 MB RAM. This is a dual SIM handset (micro SIMs) with dual standby mode. Google play store is missing, instead you will find the Nokia store.  The X is nice effort of Nokia.

Nokia X Box -
Handset, 1500 mAh battery, user guide, traveler charger and earphone.

Design and Display
The X has the same design and build quality as the ASHA series and the Build quality is very impressive and it feel really good to hold. The covers are interchangeable and you have a choice of six jazzy colors. There is a single navigation (touch) button at the front bottom. The volume rockers and the power button is on the right side, micro USB port at the bottom and 3.5mm audio jack on the top.
Nokia x has 4 inch IPS screen is with 800 x 480 pixels resolution (~233 ppi pixel density). Display Looks brighter. Touch is smooth and Viewing angle is fine. There are accelerometer, light and proximity sensors.

Camera and Sound
Sound is very loud and clear. There is a single camera of 3MP resolution (fixed focus). The quality is okay. There is no flash support. You can record videos in 864 x 480 pixels resolution. I didn’t know they still made fixed-focus cameras in this day and age. Video recording is limited to 480p, however the phone can play 720p videos.

Performance
The X runs on the Nokia X platform version  10.0.3 which is based on Android 4.1.2. Nokia has made the interface look almost like a mash up between the Asha and the Lumia interface. You really don’t get the android feel when you look at the interface. The handset does lag some times. Google play store is missing, instead you will find the Nokia store and you can access play store via apps. You will find almost 70% important apps of Google play. However if you have the APK files the same can be installed on the Nokia X. 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS worked without any issues.

Memory and Battery
There is on-board 512MB RAM of which 197MB is available. Of the 4GB storage 1.29GB is allocated for apps and 1.17GB as the phone storage. Apps can be installed on the external storage. OTG is not supported. OTA updates are supported.

Benchmark

Quadrant Standard – 2913.
AnTuTu – 7637.
Nenamark 2 – 32.4 fps
Multi touch – 2 points.

Verdict
The performance is okay. Nokia has customized the OS, for the first time android buyer it's a good phone with amazing look but for the price there are better android powered handsets available in the market knows as Indian brand having better specs. First time android user and who do basic things with android and who are Nokia fan for them it's an awesome deal . If you prefer to buy Brand phone who provides better after sale services than other Chinese and Indian Brand then definitely it's an must buy device in this range.
