Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch officially unveiled


Samsung has officially unveiled this smartwatch and it has mainly emphasized on providing the device with multiple color versions to make it a beautiful lifestyle device. Fully specifications of Samsung smartwatch includes 1.64 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels that translates to an impressive 277ppi. It comes equipped with a speaker and a mic which allows it to receive calls from the phone. That also enables it to take take commands. Oh, and it connects to the phone using Bluetooth 4.0 LE. Inside the watch is an 800MHz processor along with 512MB RAM. A 315mAh battery is capable of keeping the watch alive for over 25 hours. Galaxy Gear even captures photos and 720p videos using the 1.9 megapixel camera and saves them on a 4GB inbuilt storage. The built in accelerometer and gyroscope in the watch make it useful as a fitness tool. And no, it doesn’t run on Android.
For your information, it is not an independent device because you will need Samsung Galaxy Note 3 smartphone or the newSamsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to pair with it to operate it. It has been priced at $299 which is twice the price of the Pebble Smartwatch and it will be available from September 25th 2013.
